Mental Health Resources
Southmoreland School District is committed to supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of every student. Our school-based mental health services are designed to ensure that students have access to the support they need to be successful both in and out of the classroom.
Our Student Services team—including school counselors, school psychologists, social workers, and partnered mental health professionals—provides a comprehensive range of supports. These services include individual and small group counseling, crisis intervention, behavioral and emotional support, and consultation with teachers and families.
We take a proactive approach by incorporating social-emotional learning, teaching coping strategies, and helping students build skills in communication, problem-solving, and resilience. When needed, we also work closely with community agencies to connect students and families with additional resources beyond the school setting.
All services are provided in a safe, supportive, and confidential environment, with the goal of removing barriers to learning and helping every student feel connected, supported, and ready to succeed.
If you believe your child could benefit from mental health support, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s school counselor or building administration for more information.
